5th Graders Are Taking Their Shot!

We hop in the car driving to some unknown destination,after an hour of driving we get to the zoo my brother starts screaming in joy.”ugh I hate animals they’re  so gross.”As my little brother runs towards the disgusting animals he calls out to me “come pet the pretty bunny.” My thoughts pull me away from reality thinking but should I really do this? Next thing I know I'm petting a bunny. “It's so soft.''Then I realized I dont hate animals. I love them.Then we disappeared into the night.

I was walking down the road when I saw a big grey wolf that  chased me all the way home then I slammed the door right before it could even leave a hair in my house then that’s when I realized that mom and dad weren't home.  “MOM DAD, THERE IS A GIANT WOLF OUTSIDE THE HOUSE, MOM DAD!” i yelled for my mom and dad but they were nowhere to be found i was just about to open the front door when i realized that i forgot that the wolf was even there. Terrified, I stopped myself very fast.

But should I really do this the waves are really rough  But should I really do this  the sharks will eat me up But should I really do this I am getting really scared  How deep will it go How far does it stretch  Will I sink  Will I swim 50 Please somebody tell me I do not know what to expect   We do not know what is out there  Believe me I have heard stories  I do not know what anymore Should I swim or stay on land 88   I know I will swim all day  Laugh and play.

¨Alright Danny, truth or dare,¨ Bethany questioned. My best friends and I were sitting in a circle in my backyard. ¨ I´ll have a dare,¨ I said absentmindedly.  ¨I dare you to go into the haunted house,¨ Bethany said evilly.  I walked through the gate and around the house to the back door. I reached for the door handle and then stopped. I really wanted to please my friends, but should I really do this. I took a deep breath and opened the door. I creeped out the front door and scared them from behind.     

Where am I?  I tried to remember what had happened.  I fell asleep not long ago.  I pinched myself. It didn’t hurt. Yup. This is a dream.  Then I plunged into darkness.  I awoke being nuzzled by a horse. But after further inspection, I realized that this isn’t any ordinary horse… It’s a pegasus. He crouched, gesturing for me to get on. I climbed on, and he opened his wings.  Then, we disappeared into the night. Flying among the stars with the cool night breeze In my face I felt that I could never be happier.

All of a sudden my phone rings is my cousin calls me and says that there are some problems going on in her house. I start wondering what could be happening, then I hear a loud BANG…. I ask my cousin “ are you ok”?... NO RESPONSE so “ARE YOU OK?” ... NO RESPONSE AGAIN... I kept calling and texting and she never responded. Then I called her brother, to find out if everything was ok. He said “ I’m not home, and not sure what's going on”; I worried and up to this point I asked myself should I be doing this.

 My family's vacation had been going perfectly fine. We had finally left the airport, drove for an hour car ride to the hotel by the beach and jumped into one of those really nice hotel beds. I had fallen asleep dreaming of swimming by the beach. When I woke, I did not know where the rest of my family was! I looked out of the giant hotel window, which was usually dotted with people playing on the beach, it wasn't. I looked down and saw these giant multicolored rainbow creatuers that were slowly moving across the beach. “run.”, I thought. That is why I am sitting under a bridge, soaking wet, with pajamas on.                    

THE CHINESE WARRIORS  It was a normal afternoon in sydney Australia when the chinese warrior statues started to talk to each other first it was the blue one to the red one then it was the green one to the orange on and soon enough everyone started to talk to everyone and it was all a mess then that when it happened….. A little kid saw them moving and talking and he SCREAMED and soon the chinese warrior statue police came rushing through and they had to carry the kid out to find his parents then the statue went to prison.     

On A bright day today I was walking on the beach and saw clay things on the beach and no one put them there. They can’t walk or they can’t magically be here. I went to look at them closer and what I saw was a thing that you don’t forget. It was real people frozen in clay. My first glance was terrifying just looking at one almost made my throw up. I started to walk away when they started to move and ran after me. I think they were going to freeze me in the clay too. I died.       

On a sunny morning, I take a plane to go skydiving.  I jump out doing a backflip and soar through the crisp blue sky. As I'm about to pull my black & lime green parachute...I see Tiny colorful dots on a beach. Oh No! That is where I’m suppose to land! I tried to steer away from these fake people but, end up crashing into one!  Then the one I hit crashes into another one and then the domino effect happens! Ouch, I cried out and hear them all crash to the ground. I’m seeing stars...Lights out for me!

100 word Challenge  By Evie Colorful inflatable people in an alternate universe. They walk in a world, colorful like themselves. Undisturbed by problems like those on Earth. An ideal universe you could say. Through universes they go. Wanting to visit Earth. Day and days they travel. Unaware of Earth’s flaws. At last they arrive, a tenth of their population. What do they see?  The sky.  Not as clear or as colorful as their sky back home. But it’ll do. People, not as colorful as them.  But it’ll do. The humans see the newcomers. The newcomers go rigid. Stuck on Earth forever. Seen as an attraction. 

Today when walking down the road to the beach I saw a very strange sight. I blinked but the figurines were still there standing on colored baseplates. They were taller than me. Towering over me. All looking at me but not really seeing me. Colored with colors so bright. Wait what no I didn’t imagine it at all. All the figurines were moving in a dance. Then they saw me. Then I ran hoping they wouldn't care that I saw them.

One day I was walking with my family and we passed a lot of people that looked real.  On the other hand the people that were standing there looked fake. It looked almost like the people were statues.  After that, me and my family went to get some food for lunch. The food was really good. On the way back to our car we passed the same people that were statues the first time we passed them. The second time we passed the people they were real people doing yoga. I thought to myself, “it’s been a weird day today.”            

The Chinese Warriors By Sadie Late at night in Sydney, Australia the statues of chinese warriors awoke. Noone is sure what they do when we are sleeping, until one night in late spring.  The last light in the city turned off. It was completely dark. “Power outing,”  A blue statue whispered to a red one. “Let’s go make some mischief,” the red said. They walked all over the town,(which was against the rules.) when they were walking back to their home the street lights came on. I was there that night and I wasn’t the only one who saw them talking.

So many inflatable men just standing in the open. I hope they don't blow away. They could blow away all the way to Canada I reckon. What if I popped them. I think my boss would fire me on the spot though so yeah. I really just hate inflatables. When I was little, I bit one and it didn't taste good there.

It was a very stormy day outside, then suddenly the sky flashed pink and went back to the storm; Crash pink again. “What is happening?” ask jeffery. “I don’t know.” replied his dad, John. This is not like the weather”... then suddenly a baby giraffe flew out of the sky and landed painfully on his head with a crack. Then he got up and got Jeffrey and John on his back and ran. Suddenly the giraffe spit and his spit made a big dusty hole. Then they were in the hole and the covered it up and they were safe.

¨I´m going up to the attic,¨ I shouted down the stairs. ¨Okay,¨ Mom replied. I climbed the very steep and dusty stairs to the attic. When I got up the stairs I saw a light pink giraffe sitting in the corner. I was walking towards the giraffe, when suddenly it started to glow. I backed up until I fell over a pile of boxes, it was very painful. ¨I probably sprained my ankle,¨ I muttered. Then the giraffe floated over to where I was sitting and sang/screamed a lovely song. I thought I was going crazy.

Pink. Pink. IT’S EVERYWHERE!!!!! Frankly, it’s quite painful for my eyes. Don’t you see it? You don’t? You must be quite dusty then. Over there! You see? Even that giraffe is pink! No? You are quite dusty if I do say so myself. Maybe this will clear ya’ up. Remember when you sang- well… tried to sing “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus? Now that was painful for my ears. Alright, now that you’re cleared up, do you see all the pink? You still don’t? Wait… What? I’m not crazy! You’re the crazy one.

There was a pink giraffe whose name was Ellie. Ellie was a very famous singer in London, California, Maine, New Jersey, North Carolina, and South Carolina. She was very famous, her fans loved her and it seemed she had a perfect life but during a concert she sang out of shear pain she was stabbed.She awakened in a dusty hospital bed she tried to move but it was to painful for her.She closed her eyes she could feel herself rising slowly she opened her eyes and saw herself and heard long beep.She died shortly after she dreamed.

“Ashley stop singing” I say. My sister sang so much it was painful to hear. We were at the zoo then I saw a dusty giraffe. It opened its mouth and I saw the tongue, pink then I saw its throat dark red. It hasn't been getting water. I see water in the stream out of reach of the giraffe and an empty cup. I grab it and fill it with water then I give it to him. Then I walk away hoping people will take care of it with my sister behind me singing supercalifragilisticexpialidocious as we walked away. ...
